Microsoft released To-Do 2.0 to encourage users to migrate from Wunderlist

On September 9th, Microsoft To-Do was officially updated to version 2.0. The version adopted a new design – the style of the entire application is close to the original Wunderlist, including that the original iconic headline has also disappeared, and you can use a custom background image and color template to mark different lists. Dark mode will be supported on both Mac and iOS.

One of the biggest focuses in the new Microsoft To-Do is ensuring that features are the same as the Wunderlist. This means it contains a smart list feature:

“Like Wunderlist, we have a smart list where you can view plans or important tasks. However, To-Do is unique in its personalized daily planning feature, My Day, which helps you complete meaningful and important things every day.”

At the same time, Microsoft invited users to migrate from Wunderlist to Microsoft To-Do. But there is still no exact message when the servers of Wunderlist will be shut down.

Christian Reber, founder of Wunderlist, just said on Twitter last week that he would like to repurchase the app from Microsoft.
