5th Beta of iOS 11 & macOS Higher Sierra Available
Apple has rolled out the developer beta 5 of iOS 11, macOS High Sierra 10.13, tvOS 11, and watchOS 4 to users who are participating in the develper beta testing program. Typically the public beta builds will be available shortly after a developer release.
The latest builds has bug fixes and adjustments to the beta releases, and the most notable may be that Messages in iCloud has been removed from beta 5 and pushed to a future iOS 11 update.
You can now download iOS 11 developer beta 5 from the iOS Settings app if you’re registered as an Apple Developer to gain access. You can also update macOS High Sierra 10.13 beta 5 through the Mac App Store, and download tvOS 11 beta 5 and watchOS 4 beta 4 through their respectively software update mechanisms.
A better approach for you is to run the iOS 11 public beta or install the macOS High Sierra public beta instead, which doesn’t require a developer beta account through Apple.
But you’re not suggested running a beta system software on primary devices, because it’s notoriously unreliable and less stable than a final system software build.
Still, it can be fun for you to run the beta operating systems, experiencing some of the better features of iOS 11 and interesting new features in macOS High Sierra.
Just remember to backup your iPhone, iPad or Mac before installing any beta software.
