Windows 10 adoption rate slows down
Microsoft’s Windows 10 got a new start and it attracted a great amount of installs when it had been released. It is reported that Windows 10 adoption rate may be slowing down shortly than expected.
The figures from StatCounter seems to suggest it only grew by 30% during the week ending August 9, reporting The Register.
There was a 30% rise in installs and Windows 10 grew by an impressive 177% during its first week, however, Microsoft’s market share is still under 5%.
Its market share of the market skyrocketed rose from 1.36% to 3.78% one week after the Windows 10 being released. However, there is no further rise after it reached 4.95% a week later.
Most of its Windows 10 users are basically its Windows 8.1 users. It allows the Windows 8.1 users to upgrade to Windows 10 for free. And the share of Windows 8.1 dropped from 15.03% to 14.09% that week.
The share of Windows 7 did not get affected much, it dropped from 53.6% 53.46%. Windows 8 just lost the share of 0.11% from the figure.
Windows 10 is free for the first year, thus it attracts so many users to upgrade operating system. It is designed to work and sync across PC, mobiles, tablets and many other devices. The edition for mobile phone will be released to the public in a few months.
