Facebook testing a ‘virtual reality’ app for smartphones
It is appearently that Facebook is a big fan of virtual reality. It is reported that Facebook is testing a 360-degree video app for smartphones that don’t surprise the public much.
The new app is reported to be independent of Facebook’s work with the Oculu Rift headset, offering more immersive video experiences to those who use iOS and Android OS on their handsets.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the users can move around and view it from different angles with the 360-degree vedieo app by turnng and tilting their smartphones.
Date back to last year, Facebook made promise to offer virtual reality service to its users when it purchased $2 billion on Oculus Rift maker Oculus VR.
There were figures showing that the consumer version of the virtual reality headset will be launched early next year, however, there is no confirmation from the firm when the smartphone app will be released.
Maybe the virtual reality app is not so technically impressive as other high tech products, but it will be useful for the Facebook users. In the meanwhile, Facebook is testing temporary profile pictures. With this feature, Facebook will make it easier to support causes on the network. Its improvement may bring stunny and fatastic experiences for its users.
