Apple approved third-party Touch Bar apps for Mac App Store
While the new MacBook Pro supplies are coming out, Apple’s approved that third-party Touch Bar apps can launch the Mac App Store.
These apps will allow users to do the input through Touch Bar or to do the verification through Touch ID. Although Apple’s own app has been updated to support the Touch Bar and replace several buttons on the new MacBook Pro, the compatibility has just been provided to developers.
The first batch that support such functions includes the password management tool 1Password, podcast tool Speed-up, notifier Gestimer, email tool Mail Designer Pro, graphic organizer OmniGraffle, and photo editor PicFrame, etc.
Essentially the Touch Bar is a securing USB 2180×80 screen that gives users a 45º best viewing angle. A 128-pixel part has been saved as “system button”, and a 608-pixel part as “control bar”, plus the Touch ID, the rest 1370 pixels are for common-used applications.
Both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro that launched at Apple Event “hello again” have the Touch Bar and start at $1,799 each. The products now are being delivered to customers.
