Siri adds a new feature that could be transcribing voicemail messages in iOS 10
It is said that the Siri could be improving with a new feature as the reports imply it is updating the ability to transcribe voicemail.
Reported by Business Insider, Apple is testing a service called iCloud Voicemail. The working theory of iCloud voicemail is to use the virtual assistant to gain the user’s calls, then record the calls and convert the calls to text.
It is rumored that this service is used for inclusion in iOS 10. There was data showing that the service has similar function to Apple’s Visual Voicemail feature. But there is no specific details of this service yet whether the users need to gain the authorization from the carrier support or need to pay extra fee to use this service.
There are reports indicate the Apple employees are testing Siri’s secretary-like features before the mobile system’s launch next year.
Before testing this new service, Siri was planning to get new features in this year’s iOS 9 that enables the users to search within applications and predict what ever they want to do.
As we know, the Apple’s personal assistant has the ability to transcribe voice commands, so the company may expand its features to record calls.
