Mac is not suitable for mainstream games, which Apple Arcade just does not produce.

What is the biggest gaming platform in the world? Is it Steam? Or PlayStation? No, the answer is mobile games, or more specifically, iPhone and Android games.

The PlayStation Network may have as many as 94 million monthly users, but it is dwarfed by the amazing 280 million downloads of the iOS game – Candy Crush Saga.

Millions of mobile game users may not classify themselves as gamers, but if you are an Apple user, you will also want to play games on your Mac. Considering Apple’s efforts to revive the Mac App Store, it’s easier said than done. And the game subscription service of recent Apple Arcadehas given people some hope and may change the current state of Mac games.

Hope for Mac games

The user experience on the Mac is not so good. A new game often launches the Mac many years later than it launches the Windows system (and it will have a Mac version). The range of games that Mac players can play is limited and mostly outdated.

Apple’s recently announced gthat Apple Arcade may be the answer for Mac players to pray. Apple has promised that more than 100 games will run on iOS, Apple TV and Mac. And you may know this game library that Apple is quietly planning – the above games will run very well on the Mac system.

Non-gamer Platform

Apple Arcade is not aimed at typical PC players. It doesn’t have “Call of Duty” or “Player Uknown’s Batterground”. Although Apple is trying to engage in game services, it does not intend to follow the mainstream of gamers and develops in another direction.

Take a quick look at Apple Arcade’s preview page and you’ll find something very different. It emphasizes groundbreaking games and says that storytelling and design techniques will go further than ever. And many games are collaborative, with puzzles, growing stories, and a beautifully crafted world that doesn’t always appeal to intense confrontation.

These gamers are used to spending less than the PC/Mac platform to buy an app. It costs $4.99 a month to access more than 100 cross-platform games from well-known developers, without ads, in-app purchases, or game time limits, which sounds very appealing. This further proves that Apple and Apple Arcade are vying for the market of more casual games – which is the right choice for the Mac.

So you want to do this, but you have no idea where to begin. That’s alright, because this post is listing all your available options, and help you choose between them.

If you don’t have a SuperDrive which will allow you to use your original media to play games, don’t feel any pangs of guilt by simply downloading an .ISO file from a torrent site. This can save you the need to purchase a SuperDrive. But if you do have a SuperDrive, or you’re using a Mac that has an optical drive, here’s what you’re gonna do to extract a disk image and convert it to .ISO:

1. Insert your CD/DVD, and launch Disk Utility.
2. Go to File > New Image > New Image from “Device”, then choose your optical drive.
3. Select “DVD/CD master” as the format, en make sure encryption is disable. Then start the process.
4. Now you can convert the .CDR file to the more widely-recognized. ISO format through a quick Terminal command:

hdiutil convert /home/username/disk.cdr -format UDTO -o /home/username/disk.iso

(Replace home/username/disk.cdr with the path to the file you created with Disk Utility, and home/username/disk.iso with the destination path and name for the .ISO file you want to create.)

1. DOS Emulation & Source Ports

Best for: Old MS-DOS games & golden oldies.
If the games you want to play are old enough, you’ll have an easy time getting them to work by way of emulation. Running an app natively on your Mac that’s optimized for your hardware running the game you want to play within it is one of the most stable ways of relieving old games.

2. Virtualization

Best for: Windows 95, 98 and XP titles, games that use software or hardware rendering.
Virtualization should be a better way to run classic Windows than using a native environment. It allows you to install and run Windows on your Mac, on top of OS X. Here are two options: VirgualBox (Free) and VMWare Fusion ($79.99).

3. Wine

Best for: Some games, but not all — You’ll need to make a call on a game-by-game basis.
Wine, which was initially shorthand for Windows Emulator but now stands for “Wine is not an Emulator” is a compatibility layer which allows software written for Windows to run on modern UNIX systems like Linux and Mac OS X. Options include: Wine for OS X, Wineskin Winery and Wine bottler.

4. Run Windows Natively on Your Mac

Best for: New titles, post-Windows 7 games, and demanding games that require plenty of power to run.
Boot Camp is Apple’s answer to running Windows on your Mac, and it’s how you will get away with playing the latest PC releases on your Apple hardware. Apple even offers all of the drivers you need to get things work — wireless, media keys, touchpads, the lot.

5. Don’t Forget: Steam, GOG and Mac versions.

You can just either browse the catalog online or just download the Steam client and see what it recommends for you. GOG is another online retailer that specializes in classics, hence Good Old Games. But they’re not in the business of porting old Windows titles, so most Mac games available either have Mac ports already available, or they’re DOS games that ship with a copy of DOSBox ready to go.

Many of the fans are excited about the in-app purchases in Angry Birds 2, and the developer Rovio made improvements to the defense of its latest business model.

It is creative director Patrick Liu has made efforts to justify the inclusion of the transactions as he pointed out that the in-app purchases are entirely optional.

He stated that when he was interviewed by BBC news that they have done a lot of efforts to make the purchase feel fair with Angry Birds 2. They want to give the customers the feeling that it is justified in spending money on it and get their value from what they spend.

He added that there is no need to cheat and exploit the fans by doing so. They feel it is fair transactions as the customers can access to the whole game without spending anything. The customers can have access to all content of the game.

It is convenient for the players to do in-app purchases as they could turn to in-app purchases to top up their in-game currency. And they don’t have to wait for a long time for lives to replenish.

Thee customers can now get free download package on iOS and Android devices since July 29. There were more than 1 million times downloaded of the Angry Birds 2 in its first 12 hours since it has been released.

The Japanese company leaked this news in a Miiverse message that the service which is associated with Miiverse community will be closed as well on August 11.

The Nintendo company announced that：” hey will be shutting down the service on August 11, 2015 at 3 pm after three years attempt for the launching and promotion of Nintendo TVii.”

It added:”the company is graded for all the users’ engagement for this service in all means. They hope the customers would continue to support their other products within Miiverse communities.”

Nintendo wrote on their support website as stated:” hey are happy for all of the users’ support and they are happy to bring the users happiness with Nintendo TVii service.”

The users can still watch their favorite shows and movies via multiple video on Demand applications on the Wii console even though the Nintendo TVii will be shut down.

Nintendo TVii is a free Wii U television-based service. It allows the customers to have access to watch shows on platforms like Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video and Netflix.

This service has never been introduced to Europe. There are localising multiple television services offered across the European countries with varied licensing systems made its service hard to be introduced there.
